Playing their third game in three days, the Walton/Downsville boys varsity soccer team battled to a 1-1 tie against Gilboa-Roxbury in the Delaware League Crossover Championship Saturday morning, Oct. 19.

In that game, W/D took an early 1-0 lead in the first half when Chase Mabery scored off a header from Gavin Harrington that hit the inside of the post. They maintained the advantage until 13 minutes left in the second half, when Gilboa-Roxbury equalized with a long-range shot from outside the 18-yard box.

The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate, earning Walton/Downsville a share of the Delaware League title, their first since the 2005-2006 season.
