Rams claim 15th straight Delaware League title

SK/A girls claim DL 2025 Championship title in 42-37 win over S/J

DELHI - The South Kortright/Andes girls basketball team claimed the 2025 Delaware League Championship Thursday, Feb. 20 with a 42-37 win over Stamford/Jefferson in the title game held at SUNY Delhi, which led to their 15th consecutive title.

Play was evenly matched in the first quarter with Stamford/Jefferson taking a two-point lead 13-11. S/J dominated second-quarter play holding SK/A to just one point at the foul line for a half-time score of 23-12, Stamford/Jefferson.

A third-quarter 11 point comeback by SK/A put them in striking distance, this time holding S/J to just two points for a third-quarter score of 25-23, S/J.

SK/A’s outpaced S/J 19-12 in the fourth-quarter for a final score of 42-37.

The Rams’ Addy Eckert led all scorer with 19 points, going 7-for-11 at the free-throw line. Teammate Lexi Hendrickson netted three three pointers, contributing 9 points to the victory. Nora Trimbell added 7 points to the winning effort.

Leading S/J was McKenna Hoyt who scored 17 points.
