Selected to the 1st team was Addy Eckert from South Kortright Central School, and selected to the 2nd Team was Natalie Amadon from Charlotte Valley Central School. On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors we would like to congratulate former Daily Star Sports Editor Dean Russin for being recognized by the New York State Public Relations Association for receiving an Award of Honor for social media coverage in his role as DCMO Public Relations Specialist serving Sherburne-Earlville Central School for his coverage of the schools basketball court dedication to retiring 36 year Varsity Boys Basketball Coach Kevin Vibbard Sr.at his final home game before his retirement at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season. There was livestream coverage and photo coverage of the event. The coverage broke a school Facebook record with 1726 reactions and 192 comments. Congrats Dean!!!
On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate the Delhi/Charlotte Valley Boys Varsity Football Merged Team on winning the Section IV Class D Championship by defeating perennial power Tioga by the score of 22-21 in overtime. In NYSPHSAA quarterfinal play, the team was unfortunately defeated by Section III opponent Dolgeville by the score of 28-16. We are proud of how you represented your schools and communities all season long. Congrats again!!!
On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate the Delhi/South Kortright Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country Merged Teams on their performances at the NYSPHSAA Class D State Cross Country Championships. The Boys Team finished in 7th place overall and the Girls Team finished in 5th place overall. Aurelia Comer was recognized as a NYSPHSAA Cross Country All Star. Individual South Kortright athletes who finished in the top 100 were Aurelia Comer in 13th place, Elsa Marigliano in 63rd place, Daphne Vasilakis in 67th place, and Emma Smith in 85th place. We are very proud of all of you for your team and individual accomplishments. Congrats again!!!

We know that your school district, the families of all of the players, and all of your supportive community members are extremely proud of you and how you represented your school, the Delaware League, and Section IV in these contests. Congratulations to the overall Delaware League Soccer Champions in our games held on Saturday October 19th, 2024 at the NSHOF Wright National Soccer Campus Fields in Oneonta, NY. On the boys side, the Gilboa/Roxbury and Downsville/Walton Merged teams battled to a 1-1 draw resulting in Co-Champions. In the girls final game, the South Kortright Lady Rams defeated the Charlotte Valley Lady Wildcats by a score of 3-2 to be Champions. These were two great games played by all four of our competing teams!!!
The Delaware League Varsity Boys and Girls 2024-25 Soccer Championships will take place on Saturday October 19th, 2024 at the Wright National Soccer Campus Hall of Fame Fields in Oneonta, NY. In the boys championship game at 10:00 AM, the Gilboa/Roxbury Merged team is the #1 seed and they will play the #2 seed Downsville/Walton Merged Team. In the girls championship game at 10:15 AM, South Kortright is the #1 seed and they will play the #2 seed Charlotte Valley. General admission for all spectators is $5.00, with children under 10 being free. Please no pop up tents or animals/pets at the campus. Good luck to all four teams!!!

We are very proud that all of our teams qualified to participate in this fun annual event!!! The rain date for this event is Thursday October 17th, 2024 at the same venue and time. One award was for Outstanding Small Market Podcast for The Nate Lull Podcast featuring local athletes, coaches, administrators, and individuals associated with Section IV. The second award was for the Serving New York Award for sponsoring his annual Nate Lull Scholarships for local graduating senior athletes each June. Great job Nate and thank you for all that you do for the Delaware League and all of Section IV!!!
On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate former Daily Star Sports Editor Dean Russin for being recognized by the National School Public Relations Association for his campaign promoting S-E student Marshall Sepello's "Marshall Man" movie premiere with a Publications and Digital Media Excellence Award. The campaign also earned Russin two awards from the New York School Public Relations Association in March of this year. This campaign helped to raise over $22,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Congratulations and great work Dean!!!
On behalf of the Delaware League Superintendents and Athletic Directors, we would like to congratulate South Kortright Central School for being recognized by NYSPHSAA as a 2023-24 School of Excellence winner. To qualify as a NYSPHSAA School of Excellence winner, the school needs to have 75% of its varsity athletic teams qualify to be recognized for NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete Team status for the entire school year. Congratulations to the entire South Kortright Central School Athletic Program for excelling not just on the field and courts, but in the classroom as well.
